I just had to comment on this offer I saw online today. No offence if this logo is from your site and this offer was your creation but I need to comment on a few things:
Firstly, offering 5% fees just seems needed and desperate. It shows you can’t attach customers on the quality of your services or reputation.
Secondly, competing on price just attracts clients who choose on price and no one can argue that these simply aren’t clients successful businesses want.
Thirdly, any respectable, well equipped agent cannot survive on 5% fees, it just simply cannot be done while maintaining a decent office, well rewarded staff, property portal subscriptions or IT.
Finally, is this really the best marketing activity that can be crafted? It is such a poor strategy I can’t even summon the energy to critique it here.
Of course, I love it when I see agents making these offers. They lower their profit margins but most importantly they mop up the worst of the landlords, leaving the good ones that value quality to me.
Personally, I’m not interested in the cut price fruit that’s past it’s sell by date. It might appear to be a bargain, but I’d simply rather pay for something quality that isn’t going to make me sick.
